Of all the building materials we have studied, to build my own house I would use steel to support the structure of the house because it is a material strong enough to withstand the forces that may be generated in the structure. It would apply great force both to compression and tension. To continue building the house I would put bricks in the walls and then use concrete to strengthen the structure, and use these materials which resist compression and could support the weight of the entire structure. When I have the house built with the materials mentioned above used as decorative stones on the outside of the house, I would not use this material for construction because it is not as strong as brick and concrete. Inside the house I could put granite or marble floor; also, I would use paint to decorate rooms and spaces.
